Shoalhaven Bike Users Group (BUG) came out in friendly force to honour their friend and fellow bike rider, Bob Burton of North Nowra (aged 71) who recently died of melanoma. Bob was a local builder and a keen bike rider. Over 50 fit and keen members of the group rode from Nowra to Greenwell Point and back on Saturday 28th March 2009, raising a terrific $800 for the Foundation. In fitting style, many of the riders rounded off the tribute with lunch at one of Bob's favourite haunts, the Nowra Bowling Club. Judi Puru, a bike colleague of Bob, organised the tribute. Judi and members of Bob's family were there to hand over the donation to Shoalhaven Committee for the Melanoma Foundation's Treasurer, Fiona Stasiukynas. Many thanks to Bob's family and friends for their generous donations - it will help the Foundation to raise awareness and continue our search for better treatments of melanoma. Well done everyone!
